To be able to migrate to New Zealand under the Investor category you must : be under 85-years of age have at least NZ$1million in investment funds; and gain at least 12 points from the following table: sit and obtain an English Language Testing System ( IELTS) certificate where you gained an overall band score of 5 or over in IELTS General or Academic Module or show you have an English speaking background by one of the other approved methods. Supply a medical and x-ray certificate (with some exceptions) – an application may be declined if there is any likelihood of dialysis treatment , you have active tuberculosis (TB), have a mental disorder or intellectual disability, a physical incapacity that requires full time care, an infectious disease or may need surgery. An Applicant must also not: have been convicted and sentenced to a prison term of five years or more have been convicted and sentenced to a prison term for 12 months or more in the past 10 years have ever been deported from New Zealand or any other country have been associated with criminal or terrorist groups or in some way a danger to New Zealand. A non-principal applicant must: show they meet the minimum standard of English or pre-purchase English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) training
